Hall of Fame

Many children, past, present and future, have excelled in their chosen hobby or interest. This page of the site will celebrate the achievements of these dedicated children who serve as an inspiration to others.

March 2007

February 2007

During half term Niall D competed in the Welsh Karate Union Under 9 Championships. He achieved a fantastic result, narrowly losing out in the final, and brought home a beautiful trophy to keep as a reminder of his efforts.

Keeping to a martial arts theme, Kane J was also the bearer of fabulous trophies after being named as Student of the Year at Pyle and Cornelly Kyokushin. Is he a Crouching Tiger or a Hidden Dragon?

January 2007

When I was younger I always wanted a Blue Peter badge but never got one! Well done to Katie K for getting her Blue Peter badge for sending in a drawing of Margam.

Congratulations to Harry C who has been asked to attend the Cardiff City Youth Development Academy. Who needs David Beckham?

December 2006

Paige V and Aimee V have achieved their Orange belts in karate - move over Jackie Chan there are two new kids on the block!

Aimee V has grown flippers and completed her 100m swimming badge. Well done.

Melissa C, Holly S and Hannah W scored their Go For It cards in Brownies.

November 2006

Ashley C is the person to see for smooth, calming music; he has just passed his Grade 1 for piano playing.

If you are in danger, Ellie T is the person to call. She had already gained her Bronze and Silver Lifesaving Awards but has now gone one better and achieved her Gold Award. Ellie has also completed her 1 mile swimming badge along with her sister Gabby. 

Joseph J recently played for Cardiff City Development Academy against Neath and scored twice in a convincing win.

Well done to all children who completed their school swimming lessons at Pyle Leisure Centre. Many have learnt to swim for the first time and others have extended their skills in the water.

Paige V, Aimee V, Gemma H and Molly W wowed the crowds in a recent production of Fiddler on the Roof, playing to packed houses in Cardiff and Porthcawl.

October 2006

Corrie M won Banc Rhydfelin Motorcross Tournament. 

Tom P won 1ST place in the Redrow Homes Halloween Competition.

Rhydian B scored 5 goals for Porthcawl Piranhas. He was player of the year and earned 2 trophies.

Joseph J won Player of the Year for Kenfig Community Boys and Girls Club.

Sam D won a 10m backstroke competition at Pyle Leisure Centre.

September 2006

Congratulations to Benjamin K who has been invited to attend winter training with Glamorgan Cricket Club.

Molly W has passed her grade 1 in piano.

Callum C has passed a green belt in karate.

Jordan J scored his first rugby try for Corneli Primary School.

Molly E has been promoted to her second class in gymnastics at Pyle Leisure Centre.

August 2006

Tom K won a football medal for Porthcawl Utd after a victory against Pen-y-fai.
